I was just searching for classics (as I wish to go back and read up on the classics) after going thru the mainstream materials, hopefully to 'unlearn' some of the things. Do you know where i can get some of these books in Singapore? better if they comes in English? I know S.Skinner has a translated classic 'Eight Mansions..' Is that referring to the 八宅明镜 classic or other original eight mansion FS? thanks! Not easy to find good classic books in singapore...
If I'm not wrong, Mr Stephen is currently residing in Johor. Anyway, the classic he translated is not the Ba Zhai Ming Jin 八宅明镜. You can read more details here: http://www.sskinner.com/books.htm
The only place in Singapore you can get this book is at Wanli Bookshop in Golden Mile Building at Beach Road (there's two Golden Mile Buildings there, it's the one with the cinemas). I was shocked when I saw the price, more then $100 and it is a very thin and small book in any case. But I have yet to browse the content since the shop owner kept it in the glass display. By the way, this shop carries the most comprehensive array of Chinese feng shui books in Singapore
thanks! the Book by skinner is on eight mansions formula, so i was wondering if its everything about the eight mansions origin etc. Thanks, me going golden mile to check it out.
As for the 八宅明镜详解, it can be obtain around $50, through online though.
By the way, from the ancient text or origins, I am looking for texts that are able to mention about the relation of eight mansions and flying stars, as in, the people during that era actually write about it, describe both relationship with each other...Can you recommend any text?
i know many people ask which to apply etc, i feel either one is ok, but maybe because of the evolution of the method, there may not be a clear answer on how best to apply both unless one sought master advise i guess.
Can you recommend some books on luan tou feng shui (talks on the different types of dos and donts of house decoration, furniture placings, toilet door, living rooms etc etc, every types of 'sha' and its recommended cures and why)..
I wanted to read up on these along with xuan kong..went to wanli today to get books by 白鹤鸣, 旺宅化煞22法, 家居风水20决 and 家居风水小XX(do not know how to pronounce the word)..
But somehow i wanted a much more comprehensive book or books..can you recommend? want to go there get again this sat..Btw, besides wanli is a fengshui center offering courses, saw the flyers and students...do you have any experience with it? whether it is good?
You can borrow Master Hsieh Yuan Jin 谢沅瑾 (Taiwan)’s books from the National Library. His books are very clear on the Luan Tou Feng Shui and quite comprehensive also. The library has 3 of his books.
The fengshui centre beside Wan Li Bookshop conducts Flying Stars Feng Shui courses and I have spoken to the master before. He charges $800 for 8-9 lessons and claims his students are ex-students of Master Yap Cheng Hai, Raymond Lo and Vincent Koh. He teaches in Johor Bahru also and has being doing it for more then a decade. The first time I went to Wan Li Bookshop was more then a decade ago when my teacher brought me there and this master have been there since then. I’m not sure how good he is.
