Known for his previous book on Chinese traditions and beliefs, Daniel Tong's new book 'A Biblical Approach To Feng Shui and Divination' tackles the practice of Feng Shui and its conflicting concepts when juxtaposed with biblical teachings. I can tell that indepth research have been done by him and aided by the fact he's Chinese gave him unlimited access to books and articles on the subject. This also helped him in understanding key concepts and relaying them to the readers in clear English. He provided a decent writeup on Feng Shui's history and theories but made it clear also that such practices are NOT in line with the teachings of Christ. Here are some of the extracts from the book:
" I personally find it very hard to ascribe to Feng Shui any scientific basis." - page 114.
" Why turn to a practice like Feng Shui for help when you can go to Yahweh himself?" - page 117.
" ... I do believe there is a demonic element in the practice of Feng Shui." - page 118.
And what happens when your friends or loved ones engage in the practice of Feng Shui?
" We should pray for them to find their security in this life and the next in Yahweh." - page 120.
It is a good read indeed but there are certainly many aspects of the book I disagree with. Such as the chapter on the Bagua. The meanings of the Bagua he debunks in the book is that of the Eight Aspirations School which in the first place is not genuine Feng Shui to begin with. Also, at one point, Chinese readers are discouraged to use the Sixty-Year Cycle calender since it indirectly promotes superstitions and obsolete beliefs. What?
Coincidentally, I nearly joined the publisher of this book almost half a year ago as an sales executive. Hmmm...

You gave Daniel Tong too much credit for his 'painstaking' research in Feng Shui.
His research is culled from internet links.
He thinks Black Hat School is practicing authentic Feng Shui.
If anything disagree with his religious view point of the world, it is demonic.
A deluded man who has the 'holier than thou' attitude.
